MEET BRITAINS ‘MOST PROTECTED’ PAEDOPHILE MARK FEELY

Ex-Cheshire Police officer in paedophile hunter sting

A FORMER Cheshire Police officer who was caught out in a paedophile hunter sting has been jailed.
Bryn Majid sent explicit pictures to what he believed was a 12-year-old girl on the Kik messaging service.
But the 59-year-old – who served with the force in the Halton area before becoming a custody suite officer – was actually talking to another police officer who was working undercover over a period of three months earlier this year.
When his then home on Hale Road in Widnes was raided in May, 151 indecent images were found on his laptop and phone.
Majid, now of Old Coach Road in Runcorn, admitted attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child and three counts of downloading indecent images.
He was handed 20 months behind bars by judge Denis Watson at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, October 23.
The defendant was also told to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order for the same length of time.
Forfeiture and destruction of the seized devices was also ordered by the judge.
Detective superintendent Chris Warren, of Cheshire Police’s professional standards department, said: “As a former police staff member working in the role of custody investigator, he knew that what he was doing was against the law.
“He held a position of trust and he agreed to abide by the clear guidelines about the standards expected of him.
“Disappointingly, as this conviction shows, his behaviour was totally inappropriate and he clearly failed to meet these standards.
“While Majid pleaded guilty and resigned from the force, that does not in any way excuse his behaviour and I hope that the outcome of this case reassures the public by demonstrating that nobody is above the law, no matter what position they hold.”
First-time drug dealer ‘caught after 10 minutes into his career’
A first-time drug dealer was arrested just 10 minutes into his new career, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Zico Oldham, who was 19 at the time of his arrest on November 20 2019, was accused of acting suspiciously by two plainclothes officers while with two men in Mexborough.
He pled guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and was given two years in a young offenders’ institution.
The jury heard Oldham was found with £610 worth of heroin and cocaine, £90 in cash, and two phones – one for work, one for ‘business’.
The defence argued Oldham should be given a suspended sentence due to immaturity. Joy Merriam, defending Oldam, said: “His mother wonders if he was set up as he was caught (within) 10 or 15 minutes.”
Judge Roger Thomas QC dismissed the defence’s claims. He said to Oldham: “You quite clearly went into this offending with your eyes wide open and on an entirely voluntary basis.
“You chose to become a drug dealer in a park in Mexborough that is seemingly notorious for drug dealing.
“You don’t use drugs. You are a fit and healthy young man. You wanted to put some money into your pocket. There’s quite a lot about your case that’s difficult to understand. This is out-and-out drug dealing.”
Oldham is serving 27 months of detention in a Young Offenders Institution.
